Why
should I buy the dictionary?
OILTERMS
2.0 English-Russian electronic dictionary and phrase-book is a
desktop application originated from Internet dictionary existing
since April, 2000. It contains a technical dictionary of words
and expressions related to petroleum industry and a phrase-book
of commonly used words and expressions.
Many
people prefer desktop applications to Internet programs. It is
much faster than the Internet version, includes more words, and
has friendly and simple interface – the words will be found as
fast as you type your text.
What
is the difference between OILTERMS and the other existing electronic
dictionaries?
Initially,
this dictionary included only translations of new words and difficult
technical terms which could not be found in the other existing
dictionaries. It originated from the dictionaries translators
created for themselves for the words they could not find in any
other dictionaries. So,
it has translations of new terms and expressions used in modern
technical and common language. Later, more common-known words
were added to OILTERMS to allow for using it without help of other
dictionaries.
However,
we did not use a common method to create an electronic dictionary
- to find and include into your dictionary as many word translations
as possible, from all possible scanned old dusty books.
The reason why we did not do that is is to help a user
to easily find a word instead of getting dozens of translations,
many of them originating from the technical language of 60-70th,
if not 30-th. It is very difficult to select
a relevant translation from such number of words. We intentionally
restricted the number of translations only to those used in modern
language.
In
other words, the difference is that we included in our translations
only the most used technical and common language words.
Why
does the oil dictionary include a phrase-book?
Just
because the people often need it - to translate a simple talk,
to write a letter or a postcard.
How
can I buy the dictionary?
Everyone
can download a trial version. After you install it on your computer,
the program will assign a Product ID to your copy and you will
be able to run it a limited number of times on your computer.
To buy the dictionary means to get a Serial Number of your copy.
Once you entered Serial Number, the program will turn into fully-functional
version.
OILTERMS
does not handle the money. We use shareit.com services for payment
transactions. If you decide to purchase this program, you can
make a payment through shareit.com and let us know your product
ID, generated by this program. Following receipt of payment, the
serial number will be e-mailed to you and you will be able to
use a full version of this program.
